First Look: Hansel & Gretel Rehearsals

To say this week has been busy at Iris Theatre would be an understatement! As the team wave goodbye to Macbeth we simultaneously welcome in our next summer show, Hansel & Gretel and the Witch Baba Yaga, directed by the returning Amy Draper.

Rehearsals for this magical interpretation are already well under way, and so to treat and intrigue readers in anticipation of the show we snuck behind-the-scenes to give you a delicious taste and little glimpse at the wonders to come…

Multi-roling is a big part of the show – Will Kelly plays Ivan as well as the Baba Yagas, and Jennifer Clement shows very different sides in her role as an evil witch and life-size doll

Did we mention there were puppets in the show? Nick Howard-Brown (a familiar face on stage in many Iris shows) gets to grips with operating this terrifying creature

We wouldn’t want to meet this scary Baba Yaga (Josie Brightwell) in the woods!
